Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team begins the 2014-15 regular season this weekend, traveling to Western Kentucky for a 4:00pm, Saturday contest before returning to the Dunn Center for the home opener against Berea, 3:00pm, Sunday.

APSU Governors Basketball plays exhibition game against Webster at Dunn Center, Saturday

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – After nearly a month of practicing and playing against itself, a new-look Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team finally will play someone else, 6:00pm, Saturday, when the Govs battle Webster College in an exhibition contest in Dave Aaron Arena.

The Governors will combine seven returnees, including preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference selection Chris Horton (13.2 ppg, 9.5 rpg), 92 blocks) with six newcomers Saturday and Dave Loos, heading into his 25th APSU season, is anxious to see how his club begins to mesh.

Basketball Govs begin first full week of practice

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – With two 1,000-point scorers—Will Triggs and Travis Betran—graduating from the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball program, it is essential for the returning veterans to step up heading into the 2014-15 season.

Leading the way is 6-8 center Chris Horton, who arguably was the Ohio Valley Conference’s most improved player in 2013-14 and is on the cusp of earning All-OVC recognition.

APSU Governors Basketball set to open practice officially Saturday

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – If Austin Peay State University men’s basketball fans want to catch a glimpse of Governors practice, they will need to bring their coffee and donuts to the Dunn Center this fall.

The Governors will have early practice—no, real early practice time from 7:00am-9:00am—during week days these next few months.

Former APSU Basketball player Travis Betran signs pro contract with Belgium team

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSULiege, Belgium – Former Austin Peay State University guard Travis Betran has signed a contract to play for the VOO Wolves Verviers-Pepinster in the Basketball League Belgium.

Betran signed his professional contract late Tuesday.

Jones brought home a pair of silver medals from last weekend’s Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships.
