Clarksville, TN – Junior Xiamar Richards, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Richards broke her own school record in the 5000m indoor run at Saturday’s TSU Invitational with a 17:52.32 mark that placed her second. It’s the second-fastest mark in the Ohio Valley Conference this season and bettered her old mark by nearly seven-tenths of a second.

Austin Peay Governors Lady Govs Track and Field’s Xiamar Richards named OVC Women’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week

Brentwood, TN – Junior Xiamar Richards has earned the Ohio Valley Conference’s Women’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week, February 5th, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Richards set a school record in the 5000m run at Saturday’s TSU Invitational, placing second with a 17:52.32 run. That bested her previous mark (17:53.05), which she set at last season’s OVC Indoor Championships.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team makes its second trip this season down I-24 for a meet at Tennessee State.
The TSU Invitational starts 6:00pm, Friday, with the pole vault at the Dunn Center on the third floor before moving to the Gentry Center for the remainder of competition, beginning at 8:00am, Saturday.

Niswonger Invitational next for Lady Govs track and field

Johnson City, TN – The distance medley relay team highlighted the Austin Peay State University women track and field team’s efforts at East Tennessee State’s Niswonger Invitational, this weekend.
The relay team shaved almost 20 seconds off its previous best time, finishing eighth at 12:50.65. Freshman Xiamar Richards got off to a great start, followed by Taelor Slaughter and Kendra Kirksey with too quick legs. Janelle Avery finished the run, leaving head coach Doug Molnar with a good feeling heading forward.

Niswonger Invitational next for Lady Govs Track and Field

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team will look for fast times at East Tennessee State’s Niswonger Invitational, Saturday, in the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.
Austin Peay is one of approximately 90 teams and more than 1500 athletes participating at the Niswonger Invitational. Teams range from all NCAA divisions, including host East Tennessee, Appalachian State, Davidson, Jackonsville State, Lipscomb, Vanderbilt, Alabama-Birmingham and Charleston Southern.

Obstacles not slowing Lady Govs track and field at TSU Invite

Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team passed a test in overcoming obstacles, Saturday, with a strong showing at the TSU Invitational.
Going into the meet, the Lady Govs knew they would be without a large portion of their distance runners as well as jumper Cenitra Hudson. That didn’t stop them from posting a number of personal bests on the track in the distance events, relays and sprints.

Austin Peay Track and Field welcomes familiarity at the TSU Invitational

Clarksville, TN – After a two-week layoff, Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team returns to indoor action at Tennessee State’s TSU Invitational, Saturday, at the Gentry Center.
Austin Peay will be making its second trip to the Gentry Center after participating in the Ed Temple Classic, January 8th. This time, the Lady Govs will be without a number of athletes due to illnesses and injuries, including sophomore Cenitra Hudson, who set the triple jump school record, January 8th, at this facility.
