Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team heads east to Johnson City, TN for the 35th annual Niswonger Invitational, hosted by East Tennessee State. The two-day event begins 10:00am, Friday, on the David E. Walker Track and Gentry Field.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball’s Travis Betran named APSU Athlete of the Week, January 15h, 2013

Clarksville, TN – Junior guard Travis Betran, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The junior from Harlem averaged 23.5 points in two outings last week, including the Govs first Ohio Valley Conference victory this season in an 84-81 overtime thriller against Morehead State, which Betran won for Austin Peay thanks to a game-winning fall-away three-pointer as time expired.

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Track and Field

Birmingham, AL – Several personal-bests led the way for Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team at the UAB Blazer Invitational, Friday, at the Crossplex Arena.

“This was a big meet, featuring lots of top competition,” said head coach Doug Molnar. “We’re definitely still improving, but I’m very pleased with how well this meet went for us.”

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team returns to action Friday at the UAB Blazer Invitational in Birmingham. With no one entered in Thursday’s 5,000m run, Austin Peay begins competition 8:00am, Friday, at Birmingham Crossplex Arena.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Track and Field’s Chantelle Grey to face NCAA’s best at SPIRE Invite Indoor Track and Field

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Track and Field

Clarksville, TN – Junior Chantelle Grey, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team will have a chance to challenge some of the NCAA’s top runners at Saturday’s SPIRE Indoor Track and Field Invitational.

Grey – who is slated to run the 800-meters – will be one of a handful of individuals to compete at the prestigious invitation-only event held at the Olympic-grade SPIRE Institute. The magnificent indoor track facility seats more than 5,000 spectators and features a 300-meter, eight-lane track.
