Austin Peay State University Lady Govs Golf beat by bad weather

Hattiesburg, MS- For the second consecutive week Austin Peay State University women’s golf team has lost a round of golf.

The first round of Monday’s 19th annual Lady Eagle Invitational has been canceled because of heavy rains in the Hattiesburg, MS, area. As a result, the tourney has been reduced to 18 holes, Tuesday, at par-72, 6111-yard Hattiesburg Country Club. Last week, the final round of the Racer Invitational was canceled because of inclement weather.

Austin Peay Governors Football coach Christophel submits resignation to become NFL Cardinals assistant

Clarksville, TN – It is now official. Rick Christophel, Austin Peay State University‘s football coach the last six seasons, has submitted his resignation in order to become the tight ends coach with the Arizona Cardinals.

“I am excited about starting a new chapter in my coaching career,” Christophel said. “I started thinking about this (coaching in the NFL), talking about this all the way back when I was in high school. What was I going to do with the rest of my life? If I couldn’t play I wanted to coach at the highest level possible.

“This has become a dream come true.”

Birmingham, AL – Several personal-bests led the way for Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team at the UAB Blazer Invitational, Friday, at the Crossplex Arena.

“This was a big meet, featuring lots of top competition,” said head coach Doug Molnar. “We’re definitely still improving, but I’m very pleased with how well this meet went for us.”
