Experience Life During the Civil War as Portrayed at LBL’s The Homeplace

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLGolden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will present “Civil War Comes to The Homeplace,” Saturday, December 14th, from 10:00am-3:00pm. Local historian, Susan “Ski” Witzofsky, will present War Between The Rivers at 1:00pm in The Homeplace Theater.

Come visit The Homeplace as the farm goes forward in time to the Civil War era.

Fort Donelson National Battlefield Prepares for New Visitor Center Exhibits

 

US National Park ServiceDover, TN – After almost three years in the planning and design, Fort Donelson National Battlefield wishes to announce that final preparations are being made for the fabrication and installation of new and exciting exhibits in the national park’s visitor center.

The park’s current visitor center opened in 1962, the 100th anniversary of the 1862 Battles of Forts Henry and Donelson. Although the building and its original exhibits have been slightly modified over the years, they largely remain as they did half a century ago.

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will be adding a new Civil War themed program in honor of the sesquicentennial or 150th anniversary of the start of the American Civil War.
