Jacksonville, FL – Diamond DeShields scored 15 points to lead Tennessee to a 68-51 win over Arkansas on Thursday at Veterans Memorial Arena in the second round of the SEC Tournament.
Tennessee (18-12, 8-8 SEC) never trailed and led by double figures for most of the game. Arkansas (12-18, 7-9 SEC) could not overcome a slow start or poor shooting (31.3 percent).
DeShields scored 10 of her 15 points in the third quarter and collected six rebounds. Jordan Reynolds had a strong all-around game, scoring 10 points recording team highs of eight rebounds and four assists. Jaime Nared added 11 points with three assists and three boards.

Knoxville, TN – The largest crowd of the season at Thompson-Boling Arena saw the Tennessee Volunteers storm to a 81-65 victory over the LSU Tigers Saturday evening.
There were 19,721 fans cheering on the Vols, who played without leading scorer Kevin Punter Jr. (right foot injury). A balanced attack combined to replace Punter’s 22.2 points per game, led by Robert Hubbs III’s 19 points.
Armani Moore scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, his second double-double in as many games after going for 21 and 11 against Kentucky. It was his fifth double-double of the season.

Knoxville, TN – The #25/RV Lady Vols (15-9, 6-5 SEC) will try to extend a four-game home winning streak and hand South Carolina (23-1, 11-0 SEC) its first SEC loss of the season on “Big Monday”. Tipoff is slated for 7:00pm ET/6:00pm CT at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Under Holly Warlick, Tennessee is 60-8 at home, 31-16 in road games and 10-5 at neutral sites for a total of 101-29. The Big Orange women are 566-55 (.911) in all home games, beginning with the 1974-75 season. Tennessee is 413-31 (.930) all-time in Thompson-Boling Arena (1987-88 to present).

Knoxville, TN – A career-high 36 points from Kevin Punter carried Tennessee to its first win over a ranked opponent in more than a year with a 78-69 victory over No. 24/18 South Carolina Saturday afternoon at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The Vols’ last victory over a ranked foe came against No. 19 Arkansas, a 74-69 win, also at Thompson-Boling Arena on January 13th, 2015.
Tennessee’s leading scorer on the season, Punter’s 36 points marked his third 30-point performance of the year. Six of his eight field goals came from beyond the 3-point line. He was nearly flawless, 14-of-15, from the free throw stripe, part of a 30-for-32 performance at the line for the Volunteers.
Madison, WI –The good news is Austin Peay State University men’s golf team jumped four spots into second place after Day 2 of the Badger Invitational. The bad news is the Governors will need a near miracle finish to catch South Carolina in Tuesday’s final round.
Knoxville, TN – After the Southeastern Conference Office unveiled this year’s league schedule on Tuesday, Tennessee Head Women’s Basketball Coach Holly Warlick announced her team’s 2013-14 slate. UT also revealed it will retire Candace Parker’s jersey on January 2nd prior to the LSU game.
The defending SEC champion Lady Volunteers, who were 27-8 in 2012-13 and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, will play 18 regular-season games vs. teams that saw postseason action a year ago. That group includes 11 teams that made the NCAA Tournament and five that played in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
