Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBrentwood, TN – After graduating four seniors from last season’s sixth-place squad, Austin Peay State University women’s cross country team was picked to finish seventh in the annual preseason coaches poll, released Wednesday.

APSU Governors Basketball has Seven 20-win teams among 2014-15 opponents

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University 2014-15 Men’s basketball schedule will feature seven opponents that won 20 or more games a year ago.

The Governors’ slate will include 14 home regular-season games plus two exhibitions. That home calendar will see the Govs play North Florida for the first time, a 2:00pm New Year’s Eve contest.

APSU Lady Govs Volleyball picked fourth in OVC Preseason Poll

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBrentwood, TN – Senior outside hitter Jada Stotts was named to the preseason team and Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team was picked fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference’s preseason poll, Wednesday.

Stotts, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, was named to the league’s preseason team for the second consecutive year.

Austin Peay State University names Dustin Korte as Men’s Golf Interim Coach

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Dustin Korte, who spent the past season as part-time assistant to Kirk Kayden after a superb Governors golf career, has been named Austin Peay State University interim men’s golf coach.

Korte will step into the void left by Kayden, who announced last week he had accepted the head-coaching position at Mercer.

APSU Lady Govs Soccer tabbed to finish fifth in OVC preseason poll

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBrentwood, TN - Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team has been tabbed to finish fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference for the upcoming 2014 season according to the preseason poll tabulated by conference coaches and sports information directors.

After reaching at least the OVC Championship semifinal stage for the third time in four years, the Lady Govs replace eight seniors who led the squad to a 48-27-5 composite four-year mark in their time on campus.

Clarksville golfer Hunter Richardson qualifies for U.S. Amateur Open Golf Championship

 

GolfClarksville, TN – Former Clarksville High School and future University of Tennessee at Martin golfer Hunter Richardson continues to add to his list of accomplishments on the links, as the incoming Skyhawks freshman earned a spot in the 2014 U.S. Amateur Open in a 36-hole qualifier at the Cleveland (TN) Country Club July 14th.

Richardson finished is a three-way tie for second place in the qualifier along with Tennessee at Martin teammate Ben Reeves and current University of Alabama golfer Tom Lovelady, who finished with scores of 136 (-6).

Austin Peay State University Governors Football add two, lose two for fall

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University football has some additions and deletions from its roster for Fall 2014.

Joining the team will be a local recruit, Jule Pace, a 6-1, 249-pound defensive end from West Creek High School, and 6-2, 190-pound quarterback Darrien Boone, a Chicago native who is transferring to APSU from Central Michigan. Boone, who redshirted in 2013, will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.

APSU Governors Football game vs. Murray State Racers to be broadcast from New Governors Stadium on ESPN3

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University’s football home game with Murray State, 6:00pm, Saturday, October 18th, will be part of the Ohio Valley Conference “Game of the Week” package that will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 this fall.

It will be the first game broadcast from New Governors Stadium on a national platform.

OVC announces first two games of “Game of the Week” broadcast on ESPN3

 

Ohio Valley Conference - OVCBrentwood, TN - On Tuesday the OVC revealed the first two games that are part of the league’s eight-game football “Game of the Week” package that will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 this fall.

The package will kickoff on Saturday, September 20th when UT Martin hosts Eastern Kentucky at 12:00pm CT. The second game of the package will take place on Saturday, October 4th and will be a “Wildcard” selection which will be announced roughly 12 days before the contest.
