Among them were nearly 50 soldiers from 101st Airborne Division Artillery who were invited to carry out and unfurl a replica of the U.S. Flag during the pre-game ceremony honoring the nation. The large replica flag was the shape of the continental United States of America. The Commodore Marching Band fanned out across the field after the National Anthem, and the soldiers lined up at the end of the stadium to form a tunnel and cheer the Vanderbilt football players as they ran onto the field. ![]() Lt. Vanderbilt’s Tim Corbin named Collegiate Baseball National Coach of the Year
Corbin led Vanderbilt to a 51-21 record, the Dores’ second straight 50-win season and third in the last four years. The Commodores returned to Omaha for the second time in four years winning the national title in just the school’s second-ever trip to the College World Series. University of Tennessee to retire Candace Parker’s jersey
The defending SEC champion Lady Volunteers, who were 27-8 in 2012-13 and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, will play 18 regular-season games vs. teams that saw postseason action a year ago. That group includes 11 teams that made the NCAA Tournament and five that played in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
