Ken Whisenhunt hired as head coach; Titans to pick 11th in NFL Draft
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have turned the page on the 2013 season and enter 2014 in the midst of significant change. A new coaching staff has been assembled to guide the team’s youthful roster, and the organization now begins the process of strengthening the core of the team.
On January 13th, Ken Whisenhunt was hired as the 17th head coach in franchise history. He replaced Mike Munchak, who led the team from 2011 through the end of the 2013 campaign. During Munchak’s tenure, the Titans had a record of 22 wins and 26 losses, including a 7-9 mark in 2013.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (0-1) continue the preseason this week as they travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals (1-0). Kickoff at Paul Brown Stadium (capacity 65,515) is scheduled for 7:00pm ET/6:00pm CT on Saturday, August 17th.
The matchup is only the second all-time preseason game between the Titans and Bengals. The first was a 2003 meeting in Cincinnati that the Titans won 23-15.
Nashville, TN – With 7:48 remaining in the 4th quarter, the Tennessee Titans led the Washington Redskins 21-14. The Redskins got the ball on their own 20 yard line after Titans’ kicker Maikon Bonani boots a 65 yard kick to the end zone.
In 11 plays, Washington quarterback Pat White marches the skins down to the Tennessee 9 yard line. On the next play, White scrambles up the middle for a touchdown. Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan makes the call to go for two. White completes the pass to Emmanuel Ogbuehi to put Washington up 22-21.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (0-0) open their 2013 preseason schedule this week at home against the Washington Redskins (0-0). Kickoff at LP Field (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for 7:00pm CDT on Thursday, August 8th.
The Redskins have visited LP Field on three previous occasions, twice in the regular season (2002 and 2010) and once in preseason (2007). In the all-time regular-season series, the Titans hold a slight 6-5 advantage.
Fans have access to 12 total practices over three weeks at Saint Thomas Sports Park
Nashville, TN – The Titans are scheduled to begin training camp this week at Saint Thomas Sports Park in Nashville. Rookies and veterans report to camp on Wednesday, July 24th, and will take the field for the first time on Thursday, July 25th.
Fans of the Titans can get their first glimpse of the 2013 squad on Friday, July 26th, the first of 12 total training camp practices that will be free for the public to attend. Training camp is the only time of the year that practices are open to the general public.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans are inviting fans to come out an attend 12 of the teams 2013 training camp practices. The first practice open to fans is Friday, July 26th going from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at the Baptist Sports Park.
Once again this year the Titans will conduct training camp practices at Baptist Sports Park, where the vast majority of the team’s camps have been conducted since the team moved to Tennessee in 1997.
Clarksville, TN -Former Austin Peay State University wide receiver Devin Stark will join the Washington Redskins upcoming minicamp as a free-agent signee.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans hired Gregg Williams as Senior Assistant/Defense.
The NFL informed Williams that he has been reinstated today and provided the following statement for release:
“Commissioner Roger Goodell today notified Gregg Williams and the Tennessee Titans that Williams’ contract with the Titans has been approved and that he has been reinstated. The commissioner cited several reasons for the reinstatement, including Williams’ forthcoming acknowledgement of and acceptance of responsibility for his role in the bounty program at the Saints, his commitment to never again be involved in a pay-for-performance or bounty system, and his pledge to teach safe play and respect for the rules at all levels of the game. Tennessee Titans Owner Bud Adams, Steve McNair, Eddie George Among Preliminary Nominees for Pro Football Hall of Fame 2013 Class
Canton, OH – Offensive linemen Larry Allen and Jonathan Ogden, defensive linemen Warren Sapp and Michael Strahan, defensive back John Lynch and kicker Morten Andersen, are among the 13 first-year eligible modern-era candidates nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013.
The complete list of candidates for the Class of 2013 consists of 127 nominees. From that list the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee will choose 25 candidates who will advance as semifinalist nominees. The list of 25 semifinalist nominees will be announced in late November.
