Tennessee Titans add Gregg Williams to Defensive Staff

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans hired Gregg Williams as Senior Assistant/Defense.
The NFL informed Williams that he has been reinstated today and provided the following statement for release:
“Commissioner Roger Goodell today notified Gregg Williams and the Tennessee Titans that Williams’ contract with the Titans has been approved and that he has been reinstated. The commissioner cited several reasons for the reinstatement, including Williams’ forthcoming acknowledgement of and acceptance of responsibility for his role in the bounty program at the Saints, his commitment to never again be involved in a pay-for-performance or bounty system, and his pledge to teach safe play and respect for the rules at all levels of the game. Canton, OH – Offensive linemen Larry Allen and Jonathan Ogden, defensive linemen Warren Sapp and Michael Strahan, defensive back John Lynch and kicker Morten Andersen, are among the 13 first-year eligible modern-era candidates nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013.
The complete list of candidates for the Class of 2013 consists of 127 nominees. From that list the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee will choose 25 candidates who will advance as semifinalist nominees. The list of 25 semifinalist nominees will be announced in late November. Canton, OH – Defensive tackle Curley Culp and linebacker Dave Robinson were named today by the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Seniors Committee as finalists for election into the Hall of Fame with the Class of 2013.

Tennessee Titans add Guard Kyle DeVan

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans added veteran guard Kyle DeVan (6-foot-2, 306 pounds) on Monday.
DeVan has three seasons of NFL experience and has logged 25 starts split between the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles. He played in five games for the Eagles last season after spending two seasons with the Colts. A product of Oregon State, DeVan originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Redskins.
To make room on the roster for DeVan, the Titans waived undrafted rookie running back Darryl Whiting.
