Tennessee Titans add Gregg Williams to Defensive Staff

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans hired Gregg Williams as Senior Assistant/Defense.

The NFL informed Williams that he has been reinstated today and provided the following statement for release:

“Commissioner Roger Goodell today notified Gregg Williams and the Tennessee Titans that Williams’ contract with the Titans has been approved and that he has been reinstated. The commissioner cited several reasons for the reinstatement, including Williams’ forthcoming acknowledgement of and acceptance of responsibility for his role in the bounty program at the Saints, his commitment to never again be involved in a pay-for-performance or bounty system, and his pledge to teach safe play and respect for the rules at all levels of the game. The commissioner emphasized that Williams must fully conform to league rules and will be subject to periodic monitoring to confirm his compliance.” «Read the rest of this article»

Tennessee Titans Owner Bud Adams, Steve McNair, Eddie George Among Preliminary Nominees for Pro Football Hall of Fame 2013 Class

Canton, OH – Offensive linemen Larry Allen and Jonathan Ogden, defensive linemen Warren Sapp and Michael Strahan, defensive back John Lynch and kicker Morten Andersen, are among the 13 first-year eligible modern-era candidates nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013.

The complete list of candidates for the Class of 2013 consists of 127 nominees. From that list the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee will choose 25 candidates who will advance as semifinalist nominees. The list of 25 semifinalist nominees will be announced in late November. The Saints provide the Titans’ final test before their regular-season slate begins on September 9th with a home game against the New England Patriots. Former Houston Oilers DT Curley Culp Named a Finalist for Pro Football Hall of Fame

Canton, OH – Defensive tackle Curley Culp and linebacker Dave Robinson were named today by the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Seniors Committee as finalists for election into the Hall of Fame with the Class of 2013.

Culp and Robinson will join 15 yet to be named modern-era candidates on the list of finalists from which the Class of 2013 will be selected. The Hall of Fame selection meeting will be held on February 2nd, 2013, the day before Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, LA. «Read the rest of this article»

Tennessee Titans add Guard Kyle DeVan

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans added veteran guard Kyle DeVan (6-foot-2, 306 pounds) on Monday.

DeVan has three seasons of NFL experience and has logged 25 starts split between the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles. He played in five games for the Eagles last season after spending two seasons with the Colts. A product of Oregon State, DeVan originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Redskins.

To make room on the roster for DeVan, the Titans waived undrafted rookie running back Darryl Whiting.

New York, NY – The Indianapolis Colts own the No. 1 pick of the 2012 National Football League Draft, which will be held on April 26th-28th.

The order of the first round of the 2012 Draft was announced by the NFL.

The NFL Draft will kick off in primetime for the third consecutive year. The first round will be held on Thursday, April 26th at 8:00pm ET.
