Clarksville, TN – Freshman center Chris Horton scored 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked five shots to lead Austin Peay State University to an 88-63 victory against stubborn Oakland City, Wednesday night, in non-conference basketball action in Dave Aaron Arena.
The victory evens Austin Peay’s record at 4-4 while Oakland City falls to 4-2.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball’s Travis Betran named APSU Athlete of the Week

Clarksville, TN – Junior guard Travis Betran, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Betran averaged 20 points in two games at the Cancun Challenge, shooting 56 percent (15-of-27) from the field. He drilled eight three-pointers – four in each contest.

Clarksville, TN – Travis Betran, who led Austin Peay State University‘s come-from-behind victory against Western Carolina last week, has been selected Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week.
Meanwhile, freshman center Chris Horton, who had eight blocked shots in the final two games of the Triple Crown Cancun Challenge, has been named the OVC Freshman of the Week.
That was announced Monday by the OVC office.
