Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay returns to Atlanta for a three-game series against Georgia State, beginning with a 3:00pm, Friday contest. For the Govs it is a return to the site of last season’s NCAA Atlanta Regional where they completed their 2011 campaign less than nine months ago.

Austin Peay will look to build on a 3-1 start to 2012, but will have to shake off the rust of a week off after seeing their only scheduled midweek action postponed. Georgia State brings a 3-2 record into the weekend following a narrow 4-1 loss at nationally-ranked Georgia, Wednesday.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsHopkinsville, KYAustin Peay State University men’s golf team caps its fall schedule with the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, Monday and Tuesday, a two-day 54-hole event played at the Links at Novadell.

The tournament consist of 36 holes, Monday, followed by a final-round, Tuesday.

Despite wintry weather conditions, Lady Govs golf in fourth-place after Day One at SIU

Austin Peay State University GovernorsCarbondale, IL – Battling near wintry weather conditions, Austin Peay State University women’s golf team finds itself in a fourth-place tie after the first round of 17th Annual Saluki Invitational, being played at the par-72, 6,863-yard Hickory Ridge Golf Course.

The Lady Govs shot an opening-round 329, Sunday, 10 strokes behind host Southern Illinois. Western Illinois and Bradley are tied for second at 327 with Austin Peay and fellow Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Kentucky sharing fourth place.

Lady Govs golf heads to Carbondale for Saluki Invitational

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University women’s golf team will head north this weekend to Carbondale, IL, to compete in the 17th Annual Saluki Invitational, presented by Forbes Financial.

The two-day, 36-hole tournament will be played Sunday and Monday at Hickory Ridge Golf Course on a 6,070-yard, par-72 layout. The course, opened in 1993, was designed by William J. Spear, ASGCA.

Batey finishes third; Lady Govs golf takes third at Murray

Austin Peay State University GovernorsMurray, KY – Sophomore Holly Batey, playing her young career’s best golf at Austin Peay State University, fired an 80, Tuesday afternoon to finish in a third-place tie in the rain-shortened NewWave Communications MSU Classic.

Meanwhile, the Lady Govs as a team finished third with a 326. Host Murray State won the event with a 317 followed by Western Illinois at 323. The tourney was shortened to 18 holes after Monday’s heavy rains.

Lady Govs golf to open spring season in Murray State tourney

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University women’s golf team will open the 2011 spring season when it travels to Murray, KY, to play in the MSU NewWave Communications Classic.

The two-day, 36-hole tournament will be played on the par-72, 6,017-yard at Miller Golf Course, Murray State’s home course. The tourney will begin with an 8:30am shotgun start each day. In addition to the host Lady Racers and Lady Govs, another Ohio Valley Conference foe, Tennessee State, also will participate along with Belmont, Valparaiso and Western Illinois.
