Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University junior guard Tiasha Gray has been named Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-OVC by a vote of conference coaches and sports information, announced at Tuesday night’s Celebration of Women’s Basketball at the Sheraton Music City.
The Clarksville native becomes the first Austin Peay player to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors since the award’s inception following the 2008-09 season.

Banks earned adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honors after averaging 14.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in two Lady Gov victories last week. The 6-3 freshman hit 66.7 percent (12-for-18) from the field on the week, helping the Lady Govs earn a three-game road winning streak for the first time since 2005-06.

Banks, of Louisville, KY, earned her third weekly league honor after averaging 14.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game during the Lady Govs wins at Eastern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville.

Clarksville, TN – For the fifth time in the last six weeks, sophomore center Chris Horton, of Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Horton picked up two double-doubles in three games last week, averaging 14.3 points and 11.3 rebounds in three Govs victories. He also averaged four blocked shots and shot 17-of-30 (56.7 percent) from the floor.
