Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay Men’s Basketball team returns to the Dunn Center Thursday, February 7th to take on their rival Tennessee State Tigers. The Governors enter the game having lost six straight and 14 out of their last 15 games following the overtime defeat at Murray State.

Murray, KY – In a season of frustrating losses, chalk up maybe the most painstaking for Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, Saturday afternoon in the CFSB Center.
All-America guard Isaiah Canaan connected on a traditional three-point play and a long three-point shot in overtime to lead Murray State to 78-65 victory in an Ohio Valley Conference.

Murray, KY – A week off has been beneficial to both Austin Peay and Murray State as the Ohio Valley Conference season hit the mid-way point.
For Murray State it has given a banged up group of Racers a chance to rest and recover from a season-long list of nagging injuries.

Cookeville, TN – Austin Peay State University‘s not-so-positive trademark has been slow starts during its recent losing streak. Saturday night represented its worst start of 2013.
Tennessee Tech jumped out to a 13-2 lead and never looked back as it rolled past the Governors, 70-52, in Ohio Valley Conference basketball action played at the Eblen Center.

Cookeville, TN – One thing for sure Austin Peay or Tennessee Tech will achieve a first Saturday in the 7:30pm, Ohio Valley Conference match up at the Eblen Center.
If the Govs can capture a victory, it would not only be their first OVC road victory this season, but their first road win period as well in 2012-13.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball drops road game against Jacksonville State Gamecocks 81-74
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Basketball
Jacksonville, AL – Despite shooting 55 percent from the floor and out-rebounding its first Ohio Valley Conference opponent this season, Austin Peay State University lost for the fourth straight time when the Govs fell to Jacksonville State, 81-74, Thursday night in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
The loss drops APSU to 5-16 overall and 1-6 in the OVC, remaining winless on the road. JSU, meanwhile, is 13-7 overall and 5-4 in the OVC.

APSU Athlete of the week Breigh Jones

Clarksville, TN – Freshman sprinter Breigh Jones, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Jones finished third in the 400m dash at the 35th annual Niswonger Invitational, Saturday, in Johnson City, TN. She qualified second in the event with a personal-best 58.15 mark, before finishing third in the final at 58.17.
