The first highlights the regular July council session that was moved up to tonight since Thursday (the usual date) is the 4th of July. Council members Steward and Lewis were absent. The second part covers budget items.

Clarksville City Council Budget and Executive Session Brief Recap for June 27th, 2013

 

Clarksville City Council - Ward 10Clarksville, TN – The council met in a shorter budget special council session (about 4.5 hours) after first conducting the required executive session.

Executive Session – An interesting topic of the executive session was Mayor McMillan’s submission of her nominees for the Clarksville Ethics Commission.

After seeing the nominee list and doing some homework, I asked the mayor to affirm that at least one of her nominees (Pastor Willie Freeman) is a financial donor to her 2014 mayoral re-election campaign.  She confirmed this was true. «Read the rest of this article»

The Lighting of Christmas on the Cumberland Signals the Start of the 2011 Holiday Season

The annual free holiday display features over 1,000,000 individual Lights in a amazing Christmas display that spans the entire length of McGregor Park in Downtown Clarksville.

3rd Annual 100 Women in Red Service

 

Greater Missionary Baptist ChurchClarksville, TN – On Sunday, August 28th, 2011 at 4:00pm, Greater Missionary Baptist Church will host their 3rd Annual 100 Women in Red Service . The theme for this occasion is “Boldness through the Blood of Jesus”.

The guest speaker will be Sister Paulette Lewis of St. Bethlehem Baptist Church. All women are asked to wear red.

A Night of Praise to be held at Greater Missionary Baptist Church

 

On Friday August 13th at 7:30pm, Pastor Willie J. Freeman and The Greater Missionary Baptist Church will be presenting  “A Night of Praise”.  The event features one of the nations number one gospel quartets, the Grammy and Stellar Award winning Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s; The return of the 5 times Rhythm of Gospel Award nominees The Marable Twins & Company; and  Gospel Comedian Sistah Willie Ruth Johnson.

The Concert will be held at Greater Missionary Baptist Church (450 Ringgold Road). Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 on the day of the event.  You can purchase your tickets at the church.
