UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – As one of the top 16 overall seeds in the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship field, the University of Tennessee Lady Vols earned the right to host first and second round games. This marks UT’s initial time hosting women’s tourney games since 2015.

No. 12/13 Tennessee (24-7), which earned the No. 3 seed in the Lexington Regional, will play host to No. 14 seed Liberty (24-9) on Friday, March 16th, at 1:30pm CT in Thompson-Boling Arena.

In Friday’s opening game in Knoxville, No. 13/12 Oregon State (23-7), seeded sixth, will meet No. 11 seed Western Kentucky (24-8) in the other first round contest at noon.

APSU Volleyball hits the road Tuesday for three game road trip

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – After suffering its first loss in a month, Austin Peay’s volleyball team hits the road for a three-match road trip this week. First, the Governors will step out of league action for a midweek outing at Western Kentucky, Tuesday, October 10th, 2017.

Austin Peay then returns to Ohio Valley Conference action with matches at Tennessee Tech, Friday, October 13th  and Jacksonville State, Sunday, October 15th.

Garrett Giovannelli’s five-RBI outing unable to lift APSU Baseball past Western Kentucky

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Junior second baseman Garrett Giovannelli finished with five hits and five RBI but Austin Peay State University’s baseball team dropped a wild 21-17 contest to Western Kentucky, Tuesday night, at Raymond C. Hand Park.

The wild affair saw both teams score seven runs in the first inning.

APSU BaseballBowling Green, KY – Austin Peay State University’s baseball junior starting pitcher John Sparks set the tone with four scoreless innings and the Governors notched a 7-3 nonconference victory against Western Kentucky, Wednesday night at Nick Denes Field.

Austin Peay (17-18) supplied Sparks early run support, using three doubles and a single to plate two runs in the second inning.

APSU Women's Tennis - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team dropped a 5-2 match to Western Kentucky Saturday afternoon in the APSU Indoor Tennis Center.

The Govs dropped the doubles point after starting down a match. APSU only had five players available due to injury.

APSU Softball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will face some of its toughest competition of the year this weekend, as they travel to Oxford, MS, to participate in the Ole Miss Red & Blue Classic.

The Govs (5-4) will open play 10:00am, Friday, versus Nicholls State (12-6), followed by a non-conference matchup versus Ohio Valley Conference member UT Martin (12-2) at 3:00pm.

APSU Softball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – On Wednesday afternoon, Austin Peay State University’s softball team will make the short drive down Interstate 24 to face Middle Tennessee in a 5:00pm single game at Blue Raider Softball Field.

The contest is the 52th all-time meeting between the Governors (5-4) and the Blue Raiders (8-5) dating back to their first meeting on March 11th, 1993, the eighth-most played series in APSU history, with the Govs trailing in the series 34-17, including a 19-5 mark in games played in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
