Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball announces Non-Conference Schedule

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – Notre Dame, Baylor, Texas and Stanford headline a stout non-conference Tennessee women’s basketball schedule that was released on Monday by fifth-year Lady Vol Head Coach Holly Warlick (108-34, .761).

Tip times and television network assignments will be available at a later date when that information is approved for release.

UT, which returns four starters from a team that finished 22-14 and rallied for the program’s fourth NCAA Elite Eight appearance in five seasons, is ranked No. 11 in Charlie Creme’s “Way-Too-Early Preseason top 25”. The Lady Vols welcome back their top scorer in redshirt junior guard Diamond DeShields (14.3 ppg.) and top rebounder in redshirt junior center Mercedes Russell (8.3 rpg.).

UT Lady Govs Basketball host Chattanooga Mocs Monday

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The #4/5 Lady Vols (3-0) play their first of three games this week, as #24/RV Chattanooga (3-1) visits Thompson-Boling Arena on Monday. Tipoff is slated for 7:00pm, and the game will be broadcast online on SECN+.

The Mocs enter on the heels of a 67-63 upset victory over #4/5 UT a year ago in Chattanooga. While there was that excitement for UTC, the Mocs also saw their season end at Thompson-Boling Arena last year, falling to Pittsburgh in the NCAA First Round, 51-40.

Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball release 2015-2016 Schedule


Nineteen of 29 games feature teams with postseason action in 2014-15

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee released its 2015-16 women’s basketball schedule Thursday evening, and the defending SEC co-champion Lady Vols will open the season playing their first eight regular-season games at home for the first time in school history.

Head coach Holly Warlick’s squad, which is set to debut vs. first-time opponent Central Arkansas on November 15th, enters the campaign on a 22-game home winning streak. The Lady Vols set a program record by forging an 18-0 mark while playing on The Summitt a year ago.

University of Tennessee to retire Candace Parker’s jersey


Knoxville, TN – After the Southeastern Conference Office unveiled this year’s league schedule on Tuesday, Tennessee Head Women’s Basketball Coach Holly Warlick announced her team’s 2013-14 slate. UT also revealed it will retire Candace Parker’s jersey on January 2nd prior to the LSU game.

The defending SEC champion Lady Volunteers, who were 27-8 in 2012-13 and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, will play 18 regular-season games vs. teams that saw postseason action a year ago. That group includes 11 teams that made the NCAA Tournament and five that played in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.

Lady Governors basketball announces 2010-11 schedule


APSU Governors LogoContests against Big 10 member Purdue and Big East member Pittsburgh highlight the 2010-11 Austin Peay State University women’s basketball schedule, released by head coach Carrie Daniels, Friday.

The Lady Govs will face six teams that reached postseason play in 2009-10. Middle Tennessee, Chattanooga and Bowling Green each reached the NCAA Tournament, where they lost in the first round. Lady Govs to meet Purdue in Preseason WNIT opener


APSU Governors LogoFort Collins, CO – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team will face Purdue in its opening game of the 2010 Preseason Women’s National Invitational Tournament, the tournament organizers announced, Wednesday.

The game, to be hosted by Purdue, is scheduled to tipoff at 4:00pm (CT), Friday, Nov. 12th as the first game of the tournament. It is a rematch of the 2002 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament contest between the two teams, a game Purdue won 80-49 – the only previous meeting between the two teams.

“We’re excited to be invited to the Preseason WNIT,” said Lady Govs head coach Carrie Daniels. “Being from Indiana I’m looking forward to facing a team from my home state.
