Austin Peay Governors Basketball stuggles in final minutes to lose to Utah Valley Wolverines 84-77

Chattanooga, TN – Austin Peay State University‘s defensive struggles continued to make December a forgettable month.
Utah Valley shot 61 percent from the floor and scored on eight of its last nine possessions to pull away late to defeat the Governors, 84-77, in first-round play of the Dr. Pepper Classic, being played at McKenzie Arena.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball heads to Chattanooga this weekend for the Dr. Pepper Classic
Austin Peay Governors vs. Utah Valley

Clarksville, TN – This is the 23rd Annual Dr. Pepper Classic, hosted by Chattanooga. This is the Austin Peay Governors Basketball’s second tourney appearance. The Governors reached the finals of 2000 Classic.
APSU has never played two-Utah Valley and High Point-of the entrants in this year’s tourney. APSU and Chattanooga have played 18 times previously.

Tennessee Titans grab defensive tackle Mike Martin in the 3rd Round of the NFL Draft
Nashville, TN – In the 3rd round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans pickup Michigan Wolverines defensive tackle Mike Martin with the 19th pick (82nd overall pick).
Martin was the 2011 season captain for Michigan and also a four year letterman. He had 64 tackles and 3.5 sacks his senior year. Martin’s strength is his strong suit. He is a durable player that uses his strength to work blockers and stop runs. At the combine, he was the top performer on the bench press with 36 reps. «Read the rest of this article»
