They recently defeated New England Intensity 32-0 in the IWFL Tier Two Conference Wildcard Game. The Fox had a great offensive game accompanied with a defense that was “Off the Chain” only allowing 12 total yards of offense by the Intensity WOW. The Fox are working hard during this break before traveling to Chicago to play in the IWFL Tier Two Championship Game July 26th at 3:00 PM.

The Clarksville Fox (the Youngest Women’s Full Contact Football Team to ever play in an IWFL championship game) will play the Montreal Blitz (the first team from outside the United States to play in a women’s full contact football championship game) for the title as Champions of the IWFL Tier Two. The Fox were excited to learn that should they win the Championship and raise the Championship Trophy in the air, they get to say “We Are Going to Dollywood”. Dollywood has generously donated park tickets to the players when they win.

The Fox has been fundraising for the last few weeks and will host a Golf Tournament on July 19 at Swan Lake Golf course. They need to raise enough funds for the vans to Chicago and 2 nights stay at the Hotel for the event. There goal is 12,000 to 15,000 for the whole weekend. Registration is open now for individuals or groups of four, contact Rob Brown at 931-320-2976. The fee is $50.00 a person which includes golf cart and green fee. If you do not have a group of four you will be matched with others to form a grouping. The event will begin at 8:00am with a shot gun start.

The Fox will also have fox fun cards, and tee shirts for sale to fundraise at this fun filled event. There are still sponsorships available for a few of the holes and for the team itself contact Mr. Brown if interested in these possibilities. The Fox depends on their fans and sponsors to finance their season being a semi-pro women’s full contact football team. The Fox want to bring the National Championship Title to the Great State of Tennessee and to their home town of Clarksville. Many people to include city and county officials will not be playing in the tournament but are bringing a donation to the event. If you can not get to the tournament you can still support the Fox as others have by going to the web site at www.clarksvillefox.com and click on the donate button.

The inaugural Tier II championship game is unique in several ways. Not only is this the first year this title will be awarded but it also the first year one of the contenders is not from the United States, making this the first ever international women’s tackle football championship game!

The Montreal Blitz (Le Blitz de Montreal) defeated the Carolina Phoenix on Saturday June 28 to advance to the
Championship game. The Blitz, in existence since 2002, has been a constant force in women’s football since
the team began. Every year building closer to thesuccess they now are realizing. As the first Canadian team to compete for a women’s tackle football championship, the Blitz are leading the way in their country for women and girls that aspire to play this great sport.

On the other side of the ball we have the quintessential all American small town team, the Clarksville Fox. The Fox, founded in 2007 have enjoyed strong fan support from their community and created success on the gridiron in record time. Defeating the New England Intensity on June 28, they became the youngest team in league history to earn a trip to an IWFL Championship.

“Both teams represent the tenacity and heart universal in every Tier II organization. As we approach this historic Tier II championship game we can all remember our sports roots and celebrate its future in these two teams. They play despite small rosters and small budgets, sometimes seemingly against all odds. They
play because they couldn’t imagine not playing. This is the common thread in all IWFL players. They never give up and never allow anyone to deny them their dream. This is who we are. This is the spirit the IWFL was founded on,” said IWFL Chief Executive Officer, Laurie Frederick.
