Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Visitor facilities at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area began late fall and winter operation schedules in November.
Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and Woodlands Nature Station will offer various guided programs, including the popular Bald Eagle Van and River Cruise Tours. Starting November 25th, Planetarium visitors will experience vivid laser lights set to holiday music and other holiday shows digitally projected on a 40-foot dome. Groups of 10 or more can make reservations any time by calling 270.924.2020.
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area has opened the camping reservation system to accept early reservations for August 14th-August 23rd, 2017. A total solar eclipse will occur in the region on Monday, August 21st, 2017.
“We want to support our local communities and visitors who want to be here to experience this unusual astronomical event,” says Jeff Laird, Customer Service Manager at Land Between the Lakes.
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Trick or treat on the “wild side” at the 22nd Annual Howl-O-Ween program, Saturday, October 22nd, from 1:00pm-4:30pm at Woodlands Nature Station in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
Tickets go on sale at 12:00pm and cost $5.00 per person ages 5 and up, free for ages 4 and under. Nature Station admission included with purchase. First tour leaves at 1:00pm; last tour leaves at 4:00pm.
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – The Land Between the Lakes Woodlands Nature Station invites families to join in the fun from 10:00am-5:00pm at the Outdoor Kids Festival Saturday and Sunday, October 8th and 9th.
Spend Columbus Day Weekend learning outdoor skills, from learning about venomous animals to practicing fishing skills, at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Nature Station admission is $5.00 ages 13 and up, $3.00 ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.

Be a part of the annual Ruby-throated Hummingbird migration to Central America! Immerse yourself amongst the hummingbirds and experience up-close critter encounters. Watch hundreds of hummingbirds visit each day.
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Following last week’s storms that impacted the entire area of Land Between the Lakes, some facilities have now re-opened to the public just in time for some of their most popular events!

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Power is out across Land Between the Lakes due to strong storms that moved through the area last night. Additional storms are predicted to take nearly the same path again today.
Those camping in Backcountry Areas are encouraged to leave before this next round of storms occur. Additional roads could become blocked or damaged causing emergency response time to be increased.
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Get an up-close look at live tropical birds, check out reptiles from around the world, touch a tarantula, and visit with domestic petting zoo animals during Cool Critters Day at Woodlands Nature Station. The event lasts from 10:00am-4:00pm, Saturday, July 16th, 2016.
“If your children like animals, they’ll love Cool Critters Day,” says Nature Station naturalist, Aviva Yasgur. “This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about a variety of interesting, exotic critters and see them up-close.”
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station to waive admission fees Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area, in honor of National Get Outdoors Day. The Nature Station is open 10:00am-5:00pm.
Come experience native gardens and rescued animals in the Nature Station’s backyard. Visitors may observe snapping turtles during Creature Feature programs from 11:30am-12:00pm.
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Land Between The Lakes is one of 186 federal sites selected to receive a 2016 field trip grant from the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks.
The grant will help offset transportation costs for students staying at Brandon Spring Group Center, an overnight group facility that focuses on environmental education.
