Golden Pond, KY – Woodlands Nature Station will host Cub Scout Day on Saturday, November 22nd, from 10:00am-3:00pm. Activities, programs, and displays will center around the Cub Scout Astronomy Academic Achievement Award to help Cub Scouts gain their belt loop and pin awards.
The Cub Scout Day program is free with Nature Station admission: $5.00 for ages 13 and over, $3.00 for children 5-12, and free for 4 and under. Everyone is welcome.

Fall Frolic features a variety of fall nature events and fun filled activities, including hayrides, live music, and appearances by Smokey Bear.
Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will join all federal agencies in honoring veterans this Veteran’s Day weekend, Saturday-Tuesday, November 8th-11th, 2014, with free admission to: The Homeplace on Saturday, November 8th; Woodlands Nature Station on Sunday, November 9th and Free 1:00pm Golden Pond Planetarium show on Monday and Tuesday, November 10th and 11th.
Active and retired members of the armed forces that present their military ID at each attraction will receive free entry for themselves and their families during Veteran’s Day weekend.

Admission to this special event is $6.00 ages 13 and up, $4.00 ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and under.
Golden Pond, KY - Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area is pleased to announce the birth of a ¾ pound female red wolf on May 2nd,2014. The Woodlands Nature Station’s captive, endangered red wolves are the proud parents.
The new female pup is just now emerging from her den and stretching her legs followed by two very attentive and nervous parents. She will remain with her parents for at least 18 months and then be transferred to a zoo or nature center to start her own pack.
Golden Pond, KY - Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area hosts the annual Special Populations Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 7th, at Honker Lake off Forest Service Road 135, near Woodlands Nature Station. Registration for the free tournament begins at 8:30am, with fishing from 9:00am until 12:00pm.
Kentucky Lake Bass Club sponsors the tournament in its 37th year.
Golden Pond, KY – On Saturday, June 14th, in honor of National Get Outdoors Day, Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area waives admission fees to the Woodlands Nature Station. The Nature Station is open 10am to 5:00pm.
Come experience the native gardens and rescued animals in the Nature Station’s Backyard.
Golden Pond, KY – Visit Woodlands Nature Station at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area, Saturday-Monday, May 24th-26th, for Wildlife Celebration.
All programs are free with paid Nature Station admission; ages 13 and up $5.00, ages 5-12 $3.00, and ages 4 and under are free. Call to pre-register for a guided canoe or kayak trip at 270-924-2020 Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Daily canoe and kayak rentals will start Saturday, May 24th, 10:00am-4:30pm.
