Land Between the Lakes to offer Total Solar Eclipse Viewing and Programming

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area will offer prime viewing locations for the Great American Eclipse on August 21st and “Sun and Moon Days” August 16th-23rd, 2017, a series of programs throughout the 170,00 acre area to celebrate and educate about this amazing natural phenomenon.

“Visitors looking for a prime spot to watch the Great American Eclipse are invited to Land Between the Lakes,” says Customer Service Manager Jeff Laird.

Land Between the Lakes to hold Food Drive July 29th

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Land Between the Lakes asks the public to participate in a food drive on Saturday, July 29th. Visitors can bring 2 cans or boxes of non-perishable food items (per person) to any facility listed and receive a special discount.

Donations will go to the Stewart County Food Bank, Helping Hands in Trigg County, and Hope Food Bank in Lyon County.

LBL to hold 21st Annual Hummingbird Festival at Woodlands Nature Station

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station will host the 21st Annual Hummingbird Festival, Saturday and Sunday, August 5th and 6th, from 10:00am-5:00pm at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Admission to this special event is $7.00 ages 13 and up, $5.00 ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and under.

Land Between the Lakes to hold Cool Critters Day July 15th

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station invites the public to experience up-close animal encounters at Cool Critters Day on Saturday, July 15th, 2017, 10:00am-4:00pm. Admission is $5.00 per person; ages 4 and under are free.

All programs included with admission.

On-site food vendors offer lunch and beverages.

LBL’s Woodlands Nature Station to waive admission on National Get Outdoors Day

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station will waive admission fees Saturday, June 10th, 2017, at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area, in honor of National Get Outdoors Day. The Nature Station is open 10:00am-5:00pm.

Come experience native gardens and rescued wildlife in the Nature Station’s backyard. Visitors may observe a bald eagle during a “Bald Is Beautiful” program from 11:30am-12:00pm.

National Trails Day at Land Between the Lakes

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – On Saturday, June 3rd, 2017, Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area invites the public to help with general trail maintenance of the Canal Loop Trail. In celebration of the 25th Annual National Trails Day, the volunteer effort will enhance the hiking experience for visitors.

“Trails provide a great way to enjoy America’s Great Outdoors,” commented Kyle Varel, Trails Manager at Land Between the Lakes. “We offer hundreds of miles of scenic trails for hikers, bikers and riders.”

Land Between the Lakes to hold annual Wildlife Celebration Memorial Day Weekend

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station will have our annual Wildlife Celebration, Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday through Monday, May 27th-29th, 2017. Nature Station admission is $5.00 age 13 and up, $3.00 age 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.

Guests can learn all about nature’s superheroes, visit with Smokey Bear and find ways they can assist wildlife in the Nature Station’s backyard at Land Between the Lakes. Special event programs are included with standard admission unless otherwise noted.

Learn about Trees & Forest Habitats during Homeschoolers’ Day at LBL’s Nature Station

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between The Lakes, KY/TN – Woodlands Nature Station, at Land Between the Lakes, hosts Homeschoolers’ Day on Friday, April 28th, from 10:00am-3:00pm. Home educators and their families can spend a day learning all about trees and forest habitats. A two-hour visit is recommended and everyone is welcome.

LBL’s Nature Station is an Outdoor Classroom for Homeschoolers during April

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Homeschooler families are invited to use Woodlands Nature Station as their outdoor classroom in April at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

Visitors can pick up a “Nature Discovery Activity Book” to guide them through exploration activities such as a pond exploration, bird identification, and animal math. Complete activities to earn an official Nature Discovery Patch and certificate. Nature Station is open 10:00am-5:00pm, daily in April.

LBL’s Woodlands Nature Station Presents Harry Potter Themed Spring Break Week

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – The Wizardry World of Harry Potter visits Woodlands Nature Station during Spring Break, March 22nd through April 7th, at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Programs for all ages will be offered daily and included with general admission:  ages 13 and up $5.00; ages 5-12 $3.00; ages 4 and under free.

“What could be more fun than combining learning about nature with Harry Potter,” said Aviva Yasgur, Naturalist at the Nature Station. “These programs offer fun for the whole family, while providing valuable learning experiences, too.”
