Austin Peay Lady Govs Indoor Track and Field have good results at OSU Tune Up

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Indoor Track and Field

Columbus, OH – Austin Peay women’s indoor track and field team prepared for the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships at the OSU Tune-Up, hosted by Ohio State.

The OSU Tune Up proved to be a highly competitive meet, featuring host Ohio State, Ohio University, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Wright State, along with individuals from Cincinnati. The Lady Govs came away with seven personal bests, picking up eight top-5 finishes and winning the 1600-meter relay.

Home Tournament caps Govs Golf Fall Season

Hopkinsville, KY – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team caps its fall schedule with the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, Monday and Tuesday, a two-day 54-hole event played at the Links at Novadell.

The tournament consist of 36 holes, Monday, followed by a final-round, Tuesday.

Two golfers in top 10, Govs finish 5th at UK tourney

Lexington, KY – Sophomore Trey Tarpley’s final-round 67 was not enough as Austin Peay men’s golf team finished fifth at Kentucky’s UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational, Sunday.

“We’ve got some talented players, that’s for sure,” head coach Kirk Kayden said. “We just didn’t get them all going today. This is a team that could see any one of these guys be at the top any day.”

Big Blue begins Golf Govs fall season

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team begins its fall season with the 2011 UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational, Saturday, hosted by the University of Kentucky, in Lexington, KY.              

The two-day, 54-hole event takes place at the University Club of Kentucky’s Big Blue Course – a par-71, 6,988-yard Arthur Hills-designed championship course. Play begins at 8:30am, Saturday, with the first two rounds in continuous play, followed by a final-round action, 8:00am, Sunday.

Lady Govs Seek to Maintain Momentum at Butler Invitational

APSU Sports: Women’s Volleyball

Indianapolis, IN – After a weekend where its offense showed steady improvement, Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team will seek to maintain that momentum in its three-match stay at the Butler Invitational, Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Govs will meet Central Michigan in a 1:30pm (CT), Friday contest before facing host Butler at 5:00pm that day. Austin Peay will meet  Elon at 1:30pm, Saturday, in their final match of the tournament.
