Lydia Walker draws large crowd at this years Rivers and Spires Festival

Clarksville, TN – Local singer and songwriter Lydia Walker performed at 3:30pm Saturday, April 20th on the Family Fun stage at the Rivers and Spires Festival. She was the opening act for Building 429.
“I had a great time. It was an awesome crowd. We ended up have amazing weather. Not to hot, not to cold, it was perfect,” said Lydia Walker. “I am so excited to be apart of something so special to Clarksville, my hometown.”

19th Annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament just around the corner

Clarksville, TN – As the temperatures climb up this weekend it is a reminder the 19th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just around the corner.
This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 11th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney drew 264 boats.

The Govs are off to their best start since 1958 and bring a six-game win streak into the weekend set. Meanwhile, the Spartans will begin a eight-game roadtrip through the Mid-South after opening their season in South Carolina.

Austin Peay Governors Sports Network adds non-conference baseball games to slate

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University‘s athletics department and the Governors Sports Network, the department’s broadcast partner, have announced the addition of non-conference baseball games to the network’s 2012-13 schedule.
The expanded schedule will include the final five games of the Govs current eight-game homestand. The Governors Sports Network will utilize WJZM 1400 AM or WVRY 105.1 FM to carry the broadcasts over the air, as each station’s schedule allows.
