I am a liberal, and proud of it.

Just say no, RepublicansIn the Leaf Chronicle the Clarksville, TN newspaper today was a editorial “Bush has proved to be lawless, reckless: Centrists who support Jefferson’s values are starting to gain strength” by David Broder. Of course this brought the Republican wingnuts out of the woodwork, and they immediately launched into their tactic of attacking anyone who dares to disagree with them.

Some tasty quotes, “lock-stepping with the liberal press”, “The anti-American crowd”, “fools”, “Typical liberal lies and drivel”. They have been drinking the Republican’s kool-aid for too long. Of course, I felt the need to respond. So here goes….

In Republican minds if you don’t support George W. Bush and most importantly his policies 100% of the time, you are a liberal.

Wear it as a badge of honor, because that is what it is. You are a part of the 70% of this Nation which sees George Bush and the Republicans as what they are. The greatest threat to our American way of life, the greatest threat to our liberty and freedoms, the greatest threat to our democracy in 230 years. What happened 230 years ago? We fought a war for freedom against the last tyrant who had the temerity to try what George W. Bush thinks of as his right. The right to rule Americans as their King. The funny thing is that his name was George also. King George III of England!

It’s time to throw out the bum (George W. Bush Jr) and his Republican enablers. It’s time to say no more, to the politics of divisiveness and the politics of hatred! It’s time to say no more to wars started enhance the profits of the military-industrial complex! It’s time to say no more to the dismantling of the Constitution and the rights it protects! It’s time to say no more to the mingling of Religion (specifically Christianity) and politics in our Government!

Let the words “Vote them out!” be our motto, not just the president, but every Republican in every political office in this nation. It’s time for a new American Revolution, one that will send the Republicans a message; putting your loyalty to a man, to a party, over your responsibilities to America is never acceptable.

  2. Okay Bill, I really resent the vote out all Republicans thing. If you have been vistiing my blog recently you will notice that I get more grief from Republicans than Democrats. Strange since I am a Republican. You are right about one thing, there is incredible pressure to dring the “kool aid”, and if you don’t they come after you (Republicans that is). Yet if you read today’s paper, Tanner sounds like the Republican and I sound like the Democrat. Geesh!
