Extended Ed offers summer courses

Develop a new skill, explore a new idea, learn a new language or seek a new career with a class from Austin Peay State University’s Center for Extended and Distance Education. Register early and receive a 10 percent discount on selected courses. A senior citizen discount is also available on selected courses. Only one discount can be applied per registration. Preregistration is required for each course.

A Woman’s Journey to Financial Independence will meet from 6–9 p.m., Tuesday, June 17 in APSU’s Claxton Building, Room 116. (course $28, supply $5)

Computer software applications: MS Access Basics will meet from 6–8 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, June 2–16 at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. (course $122, lab $5, text $34)

Adobe Acrobat will meet from 6–8 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, June 18–30 at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. (course $95, lab $5, text $23)

Personal Computing Basics will meet from 6-8 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays, July 7–21 at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. (course $122, lab $5, supply $10)

Personal development: Watercolor in the Park will meet from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Saturday, June 21 at Dunbar Cave’s Welcome Center, Clarksville. (course $42)

Business seminar: Tennessee Business Tax Seminar and Workshop will meet from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Wednesday, July 30 in APSU’s Morgan University Center, rooms 303-305 (course $175)

Test preparation: ACT Prep will meet from 9–11:30 a.m., Thursdays, July 10–Aug. 7 at 106 Public Square, Clarksville. (course $103, lab $5, text $32)

Parenting, health and safety courses: Parents, Children and Divorce, the court-mandated seminar for divorcing parents, will meet in Montgomery County from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Saturday, June 21 in APSU’s Claxton Building, Room 116; in Dickson County from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Saturday, June 28 at the Renaissance Center, Room 220; in Montgomery County from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Saturday, July 12 at the Family Guidance Training Institute Inc., Clarksville; in Montgomery County from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Saturday, July 19 in APSU’s Claxton Building, Room 116; in Dickson County from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Saturday, July 19 at the Renaissance Center, Room 220. (course $35, text $15 for all classes)

The Center also offers year-round online certificate programs in administrative medical specialist, advanced medical coding for the physician’s office, medical transcription, Cisco, CCNA, travel agent and paralegal training. Financial aid is available.
