Clarksville readies for Queen City Road Race

qcrrlogo2009The 31st Annual Queen City Road Race is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th at Austin Peay State University’s Governor’s Football Stadium.  Events begin at 12:50 p.m. with the 5K Wheelchair Race. Runners take the streets at 1p.m. for the 5K Road Race through scenic Downtown Clarksville.

This year’s race also features a 1-Mile Wheelchair Race, a 1-Mile Walk, 5K Wilma Rudolph Relay and a 1-Mile Fun Run.

Last year over 1,600 Clarksville Montgomery County and Fort Campbell School students, teachers, and family members participated in the Queen City Road Race. Participants can register at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Office or through their physical education department at school.

The entry fee for the 5K is $12 until March 31st and the entry fee for the 1 Mile Fun Run, Walk, and Wheelchair Events is $5.00. Entry for the Wilma Rudolph Relay is $25. Registration will also be available the day of the race, but the entry fee for the 5K Race increases to $15 after March 31st.
