The City of Clarksville is hosting the 2nd Annual Military Appreciation Day Picnic as a part of the Warrior Week celebration at Fairgrounds Park on Saturday, April 25th.  The weeklong celebration is in honor of all military personnel and their families. It is organized by the Military Affairs Committee of the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce.
All active duty, retired military and their families are invited to join us at Fairgrounds Park this Saturday from 1-5p.m. for this year’s picnic, hosted by the City of Clarksville with the help of Downtown Kiwanis. Free food and entertainment for the family are provided.
Kids can enjoy the petting zoo, face painting, pony rides and more. A ceremony to honor our military community begins 1p.m. with the singing of the national anthem by Thea Agnew. Special guests include Mayor Johnny Piper, BG Townsend, COL David Griffith, CSM John Strock, Mrs. Jeffrey Schoessler. Freedom Team Salute will hand out special commendation awards to military spouses.Immediately following the ceremony, live musical acts including Joel Brown, Alex and Tate, Jamie Worley Band, Emily Sandy, O.A.T.H., The Birdsongs and more take the stage.
