Clarksville area YMCA names Melanie Hadley volunteer of the year

Hadley honored at  the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s  annual celebration on April 30

ymcaThe Clarksville Area YMCA Kimbrough Family Center honored Melanie Hadley with its Volunteer of the Year Award on April 30 as part of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s Annual Celebration.

“Among many extraordinary things, Melanie used her creative talents to transform the YMCA 2008 Dinner into one of Clarksville’s premier events, raising funds for our youth programs. She exemplifies our core vales of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility,” said YMCA District Executive Director John Schlansker.

Each year, every YMCA center names a Volunteer of the Year, honoring those who’ve given of their time, talent and treasure to advance the mission of the YMCA. In 2008, nearly 6,000 volunteers across Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky helped to enrich the lives of hundreds of thousands of men, women and children, helping them reach toward their fullest potential.

The Clarksville Area YMCA Kimbrough Family Center is part of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, a not-for-profit, worldwide charitable fellowship united by a common loyalty to Jesus Christ for the purpose of helping persons grow in spirit, mind and body. With 30 centers and 301 program locations, the YMCA reaches 271,793 lives-1 of every 6 people in the 12-county area it serves-through membership, program participation,volunteerism and philanthropy.
