The Clarksville Greenway

This coming weekend, one of Clarksville’s hidden treasures will be revealed as the much anticipated Clarksville Greenway opens to the public.

The public is invited to the Clarksville Greenway Grand Opening on Saturday, September 26.  The fun kicks off at 10a.m. at the end of Pollard Road with fun and food for the entire family.  The afternoon will be filled with outdoor related activities and businesses, as well as, a preview of the new trail.

Parking for the grand opening will be at Kenwood Elementary School, and the Clarksville Transit System will be transporting guests to and from the event until things wrap up at about 2p.m.

The Clarksville Greenway extends 3.6 miles and is expected to grow in the future.  The trail, which follows the path of old railway beds, has been paved and a grassy shoulder now lines the path.  The trail is open to walkers, runners and bike riders.  Families looking for leisure can also enjoy the new Greenway by using the benches, picnic tables and swings on the pathway.

Stop by to enjoy the free fun and take a trip down the beautiful new Clarksville Greenway.

Theatre in the Park

When the Clarksville Greenway Grand Opening wraps up Saturday afternoon, the fun does not end!  Bring your friends and family down to McGregor Park at 7p.m. for this year’s Theatre in the Park performance.

Debbie Wilson will direct ‘A Tribute to Broadway.’  The performance includes singing and dancing from some of your favorite Broadway hits.  The production showcases some local talent including the Queen City Quartet and local dance academies.

Admission to Theatre in the Park is free.
