
Do you have a great idea for the 2010 Rivers & Spires Festival poster? The Rivers & Spires Festival is a celebration to showcase Clarksville’s heritage – tell our history, honor our heroes, and cultivate the arts in order to promote tourism and have an economic impact on our Downtown Historic Business District and the community. The winning artist will receive a cash prize and festival perks associated with being selected the winning artist. This is a call for all interested artist—so spread the word the deadline is closing quickly—so get out that camera—or those brushes and paint a winning contribution that will represent the 2010 Rivers & Spires Festival.

POSTER CONTEST GUIDELINES
- Contest is open to all artists 18 years of age and older.
- Entry is free and there is no limit on the number of entries
- All work submitted must be original – not previously published or pending publication.
- Entries may be image only or may be a complete poster layout including type and image.
- Artwork entered should capture the spirit and intent (as stated above) of Rivers & Spires.
- Poster entries should have a strong graphic impact — suitable for a variety of merchandizing applications (T-shirts, newspaper ads, programs etc.)
JURYING PROCESS
A panel of professional visual artists and community members who have participated in the Rivers & Spires Festival in previous years will jury the 2010 Poster Contest. Entries will be judged on their ability to capture the spirit and intent of festival through the use with a compelling graphic image – appeal, content and marketability. All decisions are final.
BENEFITS TO THE WINNING ARTIST
- Prize money for the winning entry will be $500.
- The selected artist will be given a complimentary 10-x10 ft. booth at the festival.
- The chosen image will appear on all Festival merchandise – great commercial visibility
- A biography of the artist and the winning poster design will be featured on the Rivers & Spires official website.
ARTIST AGREEMENT
- The winning artwork will become the property of the River & Spires Festival Inc.
- Rivers & Spires Festival will retain exclusive right to unlimited reproduction of the poster and to any portion of the poster artwork used for promotional purposes in perpetuity.
- The chosen artist may be requested to attend media interviews before/during the festival and should refrain from participation in interviews not approved by festival coordinators.
