The Search is on for the 2010 Miss River Queen/Teen

 

The Rivers and Spires FestivalThe search is on for this year’s Miss River Queen/Teen. The annual pageant will be held March 27 in Clement Auditorium on the campus of Austin Peay State University. The winners of the event will serve as ambassadors to the Rivers & Spires Festival, held in downtown Clarksville April 15-17. The winners will also advance to the Miss Tennessee USA or Teen USA pageants to be held in October.

Contestants will compete in three phases: swimsuit, evening gown and private interview. The top finalists will then have an on-stage interview. In addition to a banner, crown and flowers, the winners will receive an extensive prize package which includes jewelry, professional photography and make-up, spa and salon services, gift certificates, interview consulting and more.

Callie Atkins of Clarksville was crowned Miss River Queen at last year’s event, and Amber Pennycuff of Mt. Juliet was named Miss River Teen. Miss Pennycuff went on to place in the Top 15 in the Miss Tennessee Teen USA pageant. Pageant experts, including the reigning Mrs. Tennessee USA Nikki Loos Peterson, will assist this year’s winners in preparing for the state competitions and all competition fees will be paid for the title holders. «Read the rest of this article»


Road closure on Sanders Road

Sanders Road is closed to traffic from Earl Slade Road to Old Russellville Pike until approximately 2:30 p.m. Gas and Water construction workers are installing a new fire hydrant on Sanders. Traffic will be detoured.

  • Internet: You can access forms and publications on the IRS website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at IRS.gov.
  • Phone: Call 1-800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676) to order current year forms, instructions and publications and prior year forms and instructions. You should receive your order within 10 days.
  • Locations in your community: During the tax-filing season, many libraries and post offices offer free tax forms to taxpayers. Some libraries also have copies of commonly-requested publications, including the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library. Braille materials may also be available. Many large grocery stores, copy centers, and office supply stores have forms you can photocopy or print from a CD.
  • Mail: Order your tax forms and publications from the National Distribution Center, P.O. Box 8903, Bloomington, IL, 61702-8903. You should receive your products 10 days after receipt of your order.
