Green Thumb Festival to be held on May 1st!

The 1st Annual Green Thumb Festival will be held on May 1st, 2010 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at The Restore parking lot (408 Madison Street). Start the growing season with a bang! It’s time for a day that is totally dedicated to lawn care and gardening. The Green Thumb Festival will host an entire spectrum of fun, vendors, education and food. If it has something to do with lawn care or gardening, they will have it there. Nursery Vendors; Tool Sharpening; Activities for the kids; and Informative presentations to help you in your lawn and gardening adventures.

Thanks to the Montgomery County Habitat Restore, who is donating their parking lot, we will be having the festival at a convenient, down town location with plenty of parking and open space. It is a come and go event with plenty to keep you busy.

Home Owners/ Green Thumb Enthusiasts

Thinking about having a container garden this year? Wanting to compost for your existing garden? Interest in joining a community garden and renting a plot? Thinking about conserving your rain water for (lawn and garden)? Needing to find some plants for your garden? Is it about time to sharpen my lawn mower blade? In need of mulch for your trees? Then the Green Thumb Festival is for you!

Vendor

The Green Thumb Festival can provide you with a space to sell items that can be used in a garden outside or in a garden. They are offering free 20×10 spaces for the first year only. They also have a limited number of tents are available you can borrow. You must bring any tables and chairs you need. Electricty can be provided but the spaces are limited.

Non-profit

For organizations or clubs that has activities about garden or outside environments, the Green Thumb Festival can provide you with a place that you can use to can tell their visitors about you! You will be provided with a free 10×10 space. However no sales can be made from any of the non-profit tents. There are a limited number of tents are available that can be borrowed. You must bring any tables and chairs you need. Also please consider offering a speaker for the Festival’s educational tent.

Food Vendor

Food Vendors can attend the Green Thumb Festival and provide refreshment to our guests. The Green Thumb Festival gives you a space to sell food items and drinks to refresh our visitors. You get a 20×10 space. The cost is $200 to become our exclusive food vendor, or $100 to be a non-exclusive food vendor. You must bring all things needed to set up your area. If you need specific electrical arrangements, please contact the festival organizers to be sure they can accommodate you needs.
