Landlords urged to list available units immediately
Many Tennesseans have been displaced from their homes after heavy rains swelled the Cumberland River and other Tennessee waterways. To help these displaced residents find housing quickly, the Tennessee Housing Development Agency is urging all property providers to list available rental housing on the free, statewide housing locater service TNHousingSearch.org as soon as possible. The process of listing takes about 10 minutes and is completely free.
“Making sure that our residents can stabilize quickly will help minimize the trauma that flooding is causing our region,” said THDA Executive Director Ted R. Fellman. “It is critical that as many housing options as possible are available to victims. We urge landlords to list on this free, centralized service right away.” If you have available housing, please list them on www.TNHousingSearch.org or contact a toll-free call center to add properties today at 1-877-428-8844. List properties in 3 easy steps:
- Go to www.TNHousingSearch.org or call 1-877-428-8844 toll free.
- On the right side of the page, in the section labeled “Add Property,” click “List a Place to Rent or Buy.”
- Complete the registration form. You will be emailed or contacted by phone with your username and password.
TNHousingSearch.org is an important part of Tennessee’s disaster housing intervention plan and is already being used by caseworkers and agencies across affected areas to relocate those in need of housing. About the Tennessee Housing Development Agency
THDA is a political subdivision of the State of Tennessee. THDA is the state’s housing finance agency, responsible for selling tax exempt mortgage revenue bonds to offer affordable mortgage funds to homebuyers of low and moderate incomes through local lenders, and to administer various housing programs targeted to very low-, low- and moderate-income households.
