AARP Disappointed that legislation creating a Department on Aging fails by one vote

 

One senator charges that her colleagues are taking care of trees, animals, car dealerships this year, but not senior citizens

Governors Bass Tournament rescheduled for Sunday, May 23rd

 

APSU Governors LogoThe 16th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just one week away.

The tourney, postponed May 8th because of flood conditions, will be held Sunday, May 23rd, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, TN, State Park. It was the first time in tourney history that weather caused postponement.

American Floyd Rocks the Dunn Center

 

I have never considered myself a fan of rock and roll. I know, I know… But considering it was before my time, I really never had a chance to get into it. But that all changed tonight with American Floyd at the Dunn Center. I heard about it and was a little hesitant. Another cover band didn’t sound like a very fun Saturday night to me. But I caved in and agreed to go. I must say I am totally thrilled I did.

Clarksville, TN recognizes its Finest

 

CPD LogoIn a ceremony held on Friday at the Clarksville police department, the City of Clarksville recognized the contribution and sacrifices made by our police officers in the line of duty. Five Clarksville Police Officers have died in the line of duty. Kermit L. Nipple, Kenneth L. Browning, Aaron Doug Glenn, David Scott, and Yamil Baez-Santiago. In addition to the five human officers, one K-9 died in the line of duty and was recognized at the memorial along with his fellow patrolmen.
