The Cupcake Collection opens their Clarksville, TN location

The Cupcake CollectionClarksville, TN – The Cupcake Collection held the Grand Opening of its new location at 1604 Madison Street on Sunday September 19th, 2010 at 11:00am. The owners Mignon and François had built up a buzz over the last few months by bringing their Cupcake Bus to Clarksville, whetting the appetites of area residents.

The success of that campaign was easy to see opening day as when we arrived, there was a large crowd waiting outside for the doors to open; and for most of the day, the line was wrapped around the inside of the building and continued on through the front door. Everyone we spoke to that day said they were absolutely delighted that the Cupcake Collection’s new home in Clarksville was finally open for business.

The Cupcake Collection features high quality cupcakes made fresh each day. The cupcakes are made from scratch with no artificial ingredients, colorings, and no lard or shortening. Mignon makes 9 flavors each day with six of those being staples of her menu, another three flavors vary from day to day “1 is a customer pick, and two change out based on how I feel when I get up in the morning” said Mignon. The price just can’t be beat as the cupcakes run only $1.50 each.

Flavors include:

  • Chocolate on Chocolate
  • Sweet Potato w/cream cheese icing
  • Carrot Cake
  • Sweet Lemonade
  • Wedding Cake
  • Strawberry

On Mondays, they will be making New Orleans style Red Beans & Rice. The dish is based on a family receipe and contains no meat. When you take Red Beans & Rice with cupcakes for dessert “That is a recipe for good eats” said François.

They also offer Community Coffee which is a New Orleans Original.

The business is open on Sundays from 11:00am – 3:00pm, and Monday through Friday from 10:00am – 7:00pm

Mignon said that the Cupcake Collection likes to give back to the community, “If you keep your hand closed you can’t receive anything as well. We are helping to bring awareness to ALS by donating cupcakes for a bake sale on the 25th to help raise money for that cause.”

Diane Turner contacted us with more information about the bake sale:

Just wanted to say that was a great article you wrote about “The Cupcake Collection” we have anxiously awaited their arrival here in Clarksville from standing in line outside waiting for the bus to arrive to now this beautiful store. We are really very appreciative of Mignon & Francois because they are donating cupcakes to our fundraiser with all proceeds going to ALS Research in honor of my Dad “Truman D Wood Sr.” We have created a team called “Paw Paw’s Hope” and the fundraiser is going to be on Saturday, September 25th @ 650 Providence Blvd @ Vacation Motel Parking Lot. We can’t express how much this means to us that people we have come to know recently have such generous hearts. Our family will always praise them and what they are doing it takes people with a special heart to donate what they have.
