Loaves and Fishes is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that helps feed the hungry of our community. The outreach began in 1983 when several ladies from the Trinity Episcopal Church served soup on Wednesdays. Realizing the need for a daily lunch, these ladies, along with the cooperation of First Presbyterian, Immaculate Conception and Madison Street United Methodist churches, organized “Loaves and Fishes”.

From the beginning, the soup kitchen has grown into an ecumenical, community wide project. The kitchen has been housed at the First Presbyterian Church Activities and Outreach Center but operates independently since January 1999. Loaves and Fishes also operate a food Distribution Center to qualified Agencies.

Loaves and Fishes operates on monetary and food donations from local churches, civic organizations, youth groups, school groups, businesses and private individuals. Breads, pastries and produce are donated by local supermarkets and stores. Citizens of Clarksville donate vegetables from their gardens and organize food drives. To donate, please send checks to: Loaves and Fishes, PO Box 3241, Clarksville, TN 37043.
