The logo of the Clarksville Community Concert AssociationClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Community Concert Association (CCCA) will present soprano Danielle Talamantes in concert at 7:30pm, Friday, October 22nd in the Concert Hall of the Music/Mass Communication Building at Austin Peay State University.

Winner of major competitions, Talamantes is quickly becoming one of the most sought after soloists. Dr. Sharon Mabry, professor of voice at APSU, recommended that CCCA book Talamantes for its series. Dr. Gail Robinson-Oturu, CCCA president, heard Talamantes’ singing at the National Opera Association convention last year in Atlanta and agreed.

“Her singing is magnificent. There is every indication that she may be on the fast track to a major career,” Robinson-Oturu said. “Since the time that we booked her and now, she continues to receive rave reviews and was offered a full-cover contract with the Metropolitan Opera Company of New York for this season.”

Talamantes will sing the role of Najade in Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” from April 18th-May 13th, 2011.

Talamantes’ recent competition honors include first place in the Irene Dalis Opera San Jose, Irma M. Cooper Opera Columbus, XII Concurso de Trujillo, International Lotte Lehman Cybersing, NATSAA and Vocal Arts Society Discovery Series Competitions; second place in the National Opera Association and Liederkranz competitions; fourth place in the Seoul International Music Competition; finalist in the Licia Albanese Puccini Competition, Giulio Gari Foundation, Gerda Lissner Foundation Competition; and Semifinalist in the Domingo “Operalia” and Quasthoff “Das Lied” competitions.

At the APSU performance, she will be accompanied by Joy Schreier. The two have prepared a program of art songs of Robert Schumann, Enrique Granados and Charles T. Griffes and, by special request, the evening will include three of the operatic arias heard in recent competitions.
