Gunshot wound kills 101st Airborne Soldier

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A 101st Airborne Division Soldier died of a gunshot wound October 24th, in the Sarobi District, Paktika, Afghanistan.

Specialist Thomas Adam Moffitt, 21, of Wichita, KS, was an Infantryman assigned to Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).  He joined the Army in February 2009 and arrived at Fort Campbell in June 2010.

Moffitt is survived by his parents, John and Brenda Moffitt, of Wichita,
KS.

Fort Campbell holds a monthly Eagle Remembrance Ceremony to honor fallen Screaming Eagles. The next ceremony will be held November 10th at 4:00pm.
