Clarksville, TN – You’re invited to join the merchants of Historic Downtown Clarksville for The monthly Art Walk, on November 4th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Kendall Welsh from ARTifacts sent us this information about October’s artistic extravaganza.

ARTifacts, Art & Antique EmporiumARTifacts Emporium is featuring the artistry of Rachel Ison & Patty Stinnett.  When asked about her jewelry, Rachel Ison says, “I enjoy working with a variety of mediums my favorite, by far, is wire.  Bending, shaping and showcasing stones with wire to create one-of-a kind pieces adds to the happiness of my life.

Patty says, “Decorating at our home has always involved using antiques and vintage items. Family influence could be a factor in my choices for my parents and grandparents also appreciated and used vintage things. Now that I have retired from teaching I have time to try a new venture of selling some of the things I have found in my treasure hunts.”

Betty’s Antiques will be open until 8:00 p.m. offering 10% off on all purchases of $25.00 or more.  Must be paid with cash or check.

The Framemaker, located at 705 B North Second Street across from the Clarksville Academy features large sculpture by professional visual artist Andee Rudloff, Bowling Green, Ky / Nashville, TN. Andee is currently the Community Relations Manager at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, TN. Come and meet the artist at the opening reception on Thursday November 4, 5 – 8. The exhibit will remain on display through November during normal business hours (M-F, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

HodgepodgeHodgepodge will feature the felted wool pieces by Susan Nichols.  Purses and other items made from recycled sweaters which have been felted.  Susan has been creating pieces for over two years; this year added several new styles to her collection.

Ingredients will be hosting the following:  A Family Affair Catering is a locally owned, full service catering company owned by Hart and Emily Vaughn. Together, they can bring your event to life. A Family Affair began by combining Hart’s culinary talents in the kitchen and on the grill and Emily’s attention to detail in presentation and decorating. From small, intimate dinner parties, private chef work, wedding receptions, to corporate events, A Family Affair Catering is prepared to exceed your expectations.

Yvonne Wright is owner of Evon’s Creations. Yvonne began crafting jewelry as a young girl, put it down for awhile, picking it up on occasion and realized others really appreciated what she had created. Yvonne then began supplementing her family’s income with her creations. She loves crafting jewelry with pearls and turquoise and enjoys making others happy with her pieces. Yvonne thanks God daily for her talent.

Planters BankPlanters Bank is the proud owner of the winning piece of art from the Riverfest Art Competition’s Mixed Media category. Artist Kim Santiago recently hung the print, which includes French letters from WWII and old maps of Scotland, in the Commerce Street lobby. The public is invited to view the piece during regular banking hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30a.m.-4:00p.m., and Friday until 5:30p.m.

Lynne Griffey will be featured at Rogate’s Boutique.  In July 2007, Lynne paint a mural in the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. That mural led to more at the funeral home, plus local churches, homes, and government buildings.  Lynne has an interest in the local scene is due to her family’s early origin in the mid-1800’s. It is Lynne’s hope that her paintings will help endure the legacy of Clarksville history and architecture.

The Roost (located upstairs from ARTifacts & Hodgepodge) is feature the artwork of Maurice Minor & Sarah Andrews.  This show represents their recent experimentations with the printmaking process. A variety of politically and socially oriented prints will be exhibited.

The Roxy Regional Theatre’s Peg Harvill Gallery will feature artwork by students from Austin Peay State University, under the direction of Warren Greene.  While at the theatre, be sure to reserve your tickets for the original amazing race, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, opening Friday, November 5, at 8pm.
