APSU Student Finney Exhibits Intimate, Documentary Style Photos in Trahern

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Zack Finney, who will be receiving a B.F.A in photography from Austin Peay State University next month, will exhibit new work in the Trahern Student Gallery throughout the week of November 15th–19th. The show opens at 7:00pm that Monday night.

Finney’s work captures a marginalized segment of the American population – the modern day vagabond. His subjects are members of a society that is not prevalent in the mainstream. By photographing this counterculture, he brings a documentary and an intimate feeling to his photography.

Finney’s photographs have been exhibited primarily in the middle Tennessee area, but he has also exhibited his printmaking work in both Middle and East Tennessee.

He is one of the founding members of “B-Squared” – a collective group of artists who seek to raise awareness for political and social issues through art expression. The first exhibition by “B-Squared” was held in February 2010 with 10 other local artists.

Finney’s other notable show openings included the APSU Annual Student Art Exhibition 2006- 2010, the Barley Illegal Art Exhibition 2008 in Nashville, the U.S. Bank Show 2009 and the Frame Maker held in Spring 2010.
