Holiday Fun with EDGE! in December

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Child, Youth & School Services (CYSS) is offering wonderful programs during the month of December for Fort Campbell youth. Experience, Develop, Grow, and Excel (EDGE) is an opportunity for kids to experience cutting edge art, fitness, life skills and adventure programs.

One of the great things about Christmas morning is getting to open your presents in your PJ’s. Make this year extra special as you open up presents in PJ’s made by you. Six youth between the ages of 11 and 18 are invited to participate in an EDGE! program that allows you to sew your own PJ’s. EDGE! Sewing PJ’s takes place at Taylor Youth Center on December 1st, 8th and 15th, from 4:00pm until 5:00pm.

Gift Making fifteen youth ages 11 to 18 can create their very own gift to give to that special someone this holiday season. Come find your EDGE! at Taylor Youth Center on December 2nd, 9th, and 16th from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

Deck the halls, or your tree with your very own personalized ornaments.

Join EDGE! on December 2nd, 9th, and 16th as fifteen youth ages 11 to 18 enjoy getting ready to trim their trees with personalized creativity from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at Taylor Youth Center.

Nurture your inner Carlos Santana with an introduction to guitar at Taylor youth Center. Six youth between the ages of 11 and 18 will learn how to identify the parts of the guitar, tune strings, and will be  taught basic elements which distinguish between notes and chords. Come strum along in session one on December 3rd, 10th and 17th, or for session two on December 6th and 13th; from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Taylor Youth Center.  

Fire up your ovens and get baking with Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS) EDGE!

Holiday Baking and Decorating. Cole Park Commons and the CYSS EDGE! program have teamed up to provide a unique culinary arts experience for fifteen youth ages 11 to 18. Teens will have the opportunity to learn from one of the best chefs in the business, Executive Chef Bob Howell, from Eagle Catering. During this program, participants will be creating their very own gingerbread house from start to finish as well as baking a variety of cookies as well. Program takes place at Cole Park Commons on December 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th from 4:30pm until 6:00pm.

Youth ages 11 to 18 can wake up Christmas morning to see what Santa left them in the personalized handmade stockings they created in the EDGE!

Sewing Stockings program. There are six slots available and the program will take place at Taylor Youth Center on December 7th and 14th, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

Get pumped and learn the importance of how strong muscles help maintain and protect healthy bones during the EDGE!

Iron Man program. The program is designed to teach youth between the ages of 15 and 18 the fundamentals of weight lifting such as correct form and technique. Each participant will be provided a weight lifting regiment based on their individual strength. Regiment is to be completed by the end of the program. There are ten available slots for this program that takes place December 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 15th, and 17th at Lozada Physical Fitness Center from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.

All interested participants must be registered with CYSS and can sign up for the various EDGE! programs at Building 3301 or Taylor Youth Center.
