Clarksville Police Department requests the public’s assistance

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is working on a couple of cases and we think the public could help.  I’ve included the information we know and are hoping someone can provide additional information which may lead us to a suspect or possibly an arrest.

The cases include a burglary at Smith School, and a stabbing at First Baptist Church.

There was a burglary at Smith School, 740 Greenwood Avenue, which took place sometime between 12/11-2:30pm-12/12-10:00am.  There were four Apple desktop computers and some other items taken from the portable classrooms behind the school.  Based on the amount of items taken, a truck or van would have been needed to load everything into.

Police would like to know if anyone saw a vehicle of some type on the school grounds during that time frame or  knows of the location of any of the desktop computers.  Anyone with information, please contact Detective Josh Jobe, 931-648-0656, 2309 or the TIPSLINE, 931-645-8477.

There was a stabbing which occurred at First Baptist Church, 435 Madison Street, on 12/10/10 at approximately 8:15pm.  The victim is an employee of First Baptist church and was taking out trash in the alley behind the church when he was approached from behind and stabbed. The suspect ran in the direction of Madison Street toward the Dollar General store.

The suspect was described as a light skinned black male approximately 5’8 to 5’10 inches tall. He was wearing a black puffy coat and a small or tight fitting knit cap. He was also possibly carrying a bag or back pack. The suspect is possibly homeless and is soft spoken. Anyone with information, please contact Detective Newman, 931-648-0656 ext. 2313 or the TIPSLINE.
