Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team hosted more than 20 area youths for a free postgame skills clinic following the Lady Govs, 70-60, win against Eastern Kentucky, Sunday.

This is the second year for the two-time defending Ohio Valley Conference Tournament champion Lady Govs to host the free skills clinic. Open to all kids, eighth grade and under, participants registered prior to Sunday’s game and were joined on the floor by the Lady Govs following the win.

“This is a good thing for Austin Peay basketball,” said Lady Govs assistant coach Jessica Grayson. “It’s good for our program and for our players to participate in something like this and it’s good for the kids that get to come out. We’re all having fun and the kids are getting a chance to learn a little more about the game.

From there, the kids were split into small groups where the team taught basic skills from dribbling and passing to rebounding and shooting.

Following a full rotation to each learning station, the Lady Govs signed autographs and schedule posters for the participants.
