Nationally, the IRS Twitter news feed – @IRSnews – provides the latest federal tax news and information for taxpayers.

Another important nationwide IRS Twitter feed – @IRStaxpros – is designed for the tax professional community.

IRS also tweets tax news and information in Spanish at @IRSenEspanol.

The IRS Twitter feeds work in conjunction with www.IRS.gov and the IRS YouTube channels to bring IRS information direct to taxpayers, including miltilingual and American Sign Language versions. Since August 2009, IRS videos on YouTube have logged more than a million views.

In addition, the IRS provides other social media tools to inform and assist taxpayers and has an extensive set of e-news subscriptions.

The IRS reminds taxpayers that it will never send personal tax account information or ask for it via e-mail.
