USAA January Family Event

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationUSAA January Family EventFort Campbell, KY – Sugar and spice and everything nice, that is what the USAA January Family event is made of. Come out to Sportsman’s Lodge on January 8th from 12 noon until 4:00pm for an afternoon full of fun for the whole Family. Enjoy indoor fun, free crafts and face frosting (painting) for the children.

Topping off this day full of sweet fun will be a performance from Rendezvous Groove, the 101st Air Assault Division Band. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.

Madison Street Partially Closed

Clarksville Gas and WaterClarksville, TN – A Gas and Water construction crew will close the southbound lanes of Madison Street from 10th Street to Greenwood Avenue from 11:00am to 4:30pm today to replace a water service line on Madison.

Traffic will be detoured to 10th Street and Commerce Street for access to Madison Street.

Allied health care, the largest employment sector in the U.S. today, will only continue to grow as baby boomers age and technology helps people live longer lives.

Austin Peay State University’s Center for Extended and Distance Education, in partnership with Boston Reed College, is pleased to announce that a new allied health care training program will be offered in spring of 2011. IRS Kicks Off 2011 Tax Season with Deadline Extended to April 18th

 

Taxpayers Impacted by Recent Tax Breaks Can File Starting in Mid- to Late February

Internal Revenue Service - IRSWashington, D.C. – The Internal Revenue Service today opened the 2011 tax filing season by announcing that taxpayers have until April 18th to file their tax returns. The IRS reminded taxpayers impacted by recent tax law changes that using e-file is the best way to ensure accurate tax returns and get faster refunds.

Taxpayers will have until Monday, April 18th to file their 2010 tax returns and pay any tax due because Emancipation Day, a holiday observed in the District of Columbia, falls this year on Friday, April 15th. By law, District of Columbia holidays impact tax deadlines in the same way that federal holidays do; therefore, all taxpayers will have three extra days to file this year. 563rd Aviation Support Battalion soldier awarded Air Medal and Purple Heart

 

Task Force ThunderFort Campbell, KY – The 563rd Aviation Support Battalion. 159th Combat Aviation Brigade of the 101st Airborne division gathered together on Fort Campbell yesterday to recognize one of their own.

Specialist Leandro Garcia was presented with an Air Medal for Exceptionally Meritorious Service in Aerial Flight in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 9-11, as well as a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained when his helicopter was shot down while flying a mission in support of Observation Post (OP) Restrepo in the Korengal Valley in Afghanistan.

The awards were presented to Specialist Garcia by  Major General Francis “Frank” Wiercinski the Senior Commander for Fort Campbell, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade Commander Colonel Kenneth T. Royar,  and 563rd Aviation Support Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel John L. Smith.

Certain Model Year Dodge Rams to be recalled by Chrysler

 

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)Chrysler is recalling certain Model Year 2008-2011 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 vehicles. These vehicles may experence a weakening and fracture of the left ball studd on the tie rod resulting in the potential for loss of steering.

National Anthem Auditions Slated For March 12th At Greer Stadium

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds will hold tryouts for national anthem singers on Saturday, March 12th from 9:00am to 2:00pm at Greer Stadium.
