Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On January 13th, 2010, around 6:45pm, Joseph Robert Stewart called Police to report that he had been robbed by four men in the area of Locust Street and Chapel Street.

He told officers that when he was walking home from the store four men walked of the woods, stopped him, pointed a black handgun and made him kneel down. During a subsequent interview with Stewart on January 14th, Detective Mike Ulrey uncovered that a robbery had not occurred and Stewart’s story had been false.

Stewart told Detective Ulrey that he had actually lost his wallet on his way home and because of the importance of the money in it, didn’t want to tell his family that he had been careless.
