TVA, EPRI Roll Out First Electric Vehicle Charging SMART Station

Tennessee Valley AuthorityKnoxville, TN – Tennessee Valley Authority and the Electric Power Research Institute will dedicate the first of its planned network of solar-assisted electric vehicle charging stations.

On Tuesday, January 25th, 2010, Anda Ray, TVA senior vice president of Environment and Technology, Kim Greene, TVA group president of Strategy and External Relations, Mark McGranaghan, EPRI vice president, Power Delivery & Utilization, and Mark Duvall, EPRI director of Electric Transportation Research will reveal the new station at 9:00am EST. The dedication will be held at EPRI, 942 Corridor Park Boulevard,  Knoxville, TN.

The TVA-EPRI SMART station is among the first charging stations to have solar, battery storage and electric grid capabilities. The six-vehicle charging station uses renewable solar power.
