911 Center and Clarksville Police responding to weather related calls

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The 911 Center and law enforcement were kept busy with the quickly accumulating snow in Clarksville. The roads started to become very hazardous as the wet snow hit the ground, rapidly creating icy spots along with large amounts of slush on the road. The side streets went from bad to worse in a short period of time.

In the time frame from 10:00am – 3:00pm, the 911 Center fielded approximately 370 weather related calls. Law enforcement responded to about 59 non-injury accidents, 11 injury accidents, and 14 motorist assists.

The driver was slowly dring down Jefferson Street and slid off the roadway, flipped onto the roof and landed in the parking lot of a business at Jefferson Street and North 1st Street. The 31 year old driver was uninjured. (Photo by Jim Knoll-CPD)
