Clarksville, TN – Will Triggs, who missed just one shot while leading Austin Peay State University in scoring during its weekend split with UT Martin and Murray State, has been named adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week.

Triggs, the 6-5 Edwardsville, IL, native, has continued his 2010-11 season second-half emergence. In the Governors win against UT Martin, he came off the bench to score 12 points, going 6-of-7 from the floor, while grabbing seven rebounds—tying him for the team lead in that category. In fact, it was the third game in a row where he was the Govs’ rebounding leader. The forward also had two blocked shots in the contest.
But he was even better against Murray State. In fact, he proved to be the Govs’ lone inside presence in the defeat. He made all six shot attempts and was a perfect three-for-three at the free-throw line to finish with a career best 15 points. He also had seven rebounds and two blocked shots in a season-best 27 minutes.
It is Triggs’ first Freshman of the Week honor.
