Head-On Collision Sends Three to the Hospital

Clarksville, TN – On February 17th, 2011, around 9:22pm, Brittany Rutherford, 20, and a 5 year old female passenger were in a Nissan Altima traveling north on Warfield Blvd when a Chevy pickup, driven by Kristopher Colbert, 24, traveling south on Warfield Blvd, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the Altima near the Civitan Bridge.

Brittany Rutherford sustained a collar bone and foot injury and was transported by ambulance to Gateway. Kristopher Colbert and the 5 year old girl were taken by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt. Colbert had leg, arm, and facial injuries. The 5 year old sustained back and internal injuries. All are in stable condition.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be a factor.  Charges are pending against Colbert.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
