Having played the first two matches without a No. 6 player, Austin Peay has been forced to rely even more onconsistency from its three freshmen – Andra Cornea at No. 3, Kimberly Loo at No. 4 and Rachel Margolies at No. 5. Loo opened her career with a pair of straight-set wins, while Cornea and Margolies both split their first two matches.

Weikard and Loo have been stellar at No. 1 doubles, taking a 2-0 mark into the weekend. Tomic has teamed with Cornea at No. 2 doubles through the first two matches, taking an 8-4 loss at Xavier.

Western Kentucky (3-1) is coming off a 5-2 loss to Lipscomb – the same Lipscomb team that lost 6-1 in Clarksville. The Lady Toppers lost four of six singles matches and were swept on the double side. They did, however, get strong singles play from freshman Monta Reinfelde, who will bring a 3-0 No. 1 mark into Friday’s match.

SIU-Edwardsville (2-3) recently split a weekend home stand, suffering a 6-1 loss to St. Louis before picking a 4-3 win against Bradley. The win against Bradley demonstrated the importance of winning in doubles, as the Cougars picked up the point before splitting the six singles matches. Maggie Boeckman leads the Cougars with a 3-2 mark at No. 2 singles, while also teaming with Rachel Webb for a 3-1 mark at No. 2 doubles.
