210 Soldiers Returned Last Wednesday

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY –  The weather was great for the return of 210 soldiers on Wednesday and one could feel the excitement in the air.  As soldiers from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade along with 3 soldiers of the 1st Brigade Combat Team family and friends filled the air with shouts and rejoice along with one air horn.  The cheers roared at the plane taxied down the runway and again as soldiers pass waiting family members waving and blowing kisses as they dropped their gear and formed up to enter the hanger.

This Welcome Home Ceremony was different than many past as there were not tornado warning, no rain or show. Just lots of sunshine and was perfect as Sulma Perria and her four children waited for Vincent Perriera along with their adopted family Sherri Briskey and her husband.

The next soldiers are set to arrive at Campbell Army Airfield on Monday March 7th at 5:30 pm.  If you wish to attend a Welcome Home Ceremony, check the flight schedules online, as times are subject to change at any time. When arriving to Fort Campbell, enter via Gate 7; if you don’t have installation stickers on your vehicle, you will be required to get a visitor pass. From there just follow the signs to the ceremony parking. Waiting buses transport the Family members safely to the hanger.
